DDF x Humanarium: Exploring Heart Health Through Movement
Dublin Dance Festival partnered with the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI) for the first time in 2026, becoming the first cultural organisation to present a programme at Humanarium, RCSI's new exhibition and event space on St Stephen's Green.
Developed in response to Humanarium's inaugural exhibition, Heart: more than a beat, DDF curated a series of events inviting people to explore heart health through movement and embodied awareness. Across two weekends of the Festival, participants of all ages engaged in accessible workshops designed to encourage reflection, connection and wellbeing through dance and somatic practice.
The programme included Meet, Mind, Move, Play, a playful workshop for parents and babies with Katherine O'Malley; The Shake with Laura Murphy and Siobhán Ní Dhuinnín; As We Walk, a collective mindful walk through St Stephen's Green led by Mary Nunan; and Presence and Radiance with Hélène Cathala. Together, these experiences invited participants to slow down, connect with themselves and others, and discover new ways of experiencing movement.
It was a joy to witness such a warm and open response throughout the series. We are grateful to Humanarium and RCSI, the artists, and everyone who took part in making this new partnership such a memorable part of DDF2026.
