Developed by Dublin Dance Festival in response to Humanarium’s inaugural exhibition, Heart: more than a beat, this programme invites people to explore heart health through movement and embodied awareness. Guided by leading dance and somatic practitioners, the programme offers accessible and uplifting experiences for all levels, supporting wellbeing and bringing the exhibition’s themes to life through rhythm, breath and collective movement.
Taking place as part of the 2026 Dublin Dance Festival, the series brings together four events exploring different relationships between movement and the heart, from a high-energy, joyful dance to slower, mindful practices that promote calm and connection. Participants of all levels are guided to tune into their hearts with a Somatic Workshop led by Hélène Cathala and a mindful, communal walk led by Mary Nunan, moving from Humanarium into St Stephen’s Green. Laura Murphy’s dance session The Shake will awaken the senses and get the heart pumping, while Katherine O’Malley invites parents and babies for a workshop where they can move, rest and play together.
Together, these experiences offer a welcoming and optimistic way to engage with the exhibition’s themes, encouraging small, positive steps towards heart health and wellbeing.
