About
Ensemble casts light on the scarcity of older artists on the professional contemporary dance stage. Light and poignant in equal measure, this creation evolved slowly over several years through the choreographers’ close collaboration with three cast members in their 60s and 70s.
On a sparse and open stage, the group share a journey of interactions and lay bare their strengths, efforts and possibilities together. Through various choreographic challenges, the performers endeavour to keep up, to stay in time, to hold on and to hold each other.
Ensemble is a joyous expression of togetherness and often surprising physicality of a group of people of different ages.
