“Head to toe Nach is simply, quietly, fabulously magnetic.”
Springback Magazine
Rooted in its historic anger, raw emotion and hard-hitting physicality, Krump is re-envisioned in this work through Nach’s own choreographic grace, honesty and vulnerability to create a striking self-portrait. Immersed in projections of photographic imagery of black activists, she begins an astonishing metamorphosis, giving form and life to the figures that inhabit her – woman, man, shadow, animal.
In this work of rare intensity, Nach invites us to explore the light and shadows that flow and weave through us all. She dances violence, excess, desire and power, bursting through the barriers that confine us.
A work of fierce skill and explosive energy, Cellule merges diverse influences to create a unique choreographic lexicon, yet the language of Krump remains loud and clear.
