What is our connection to our land and to the neighbours we tread it with?
As we approach the end of a century of independence, the ghosts of history linger. Parochialism, fear of the outsider and a deep-rooted desire to claim ownership envelop society like shadows.
Our nation is hurtling forwards, grating against renewed anxiety around our northern border, a culturally and ethnically evolving population and a desire to redefine Irishness as an identity and nationality. Amidst the uncertainty of a post-Celtic Tiger, post-financial collapse and post-Brexit Ireland, we seem far clearer about what we’re moving away from than what we’re moving towards.
Working with a host of internationally acclaimed performers, Luke Murphy presents a new work-in-development, investigating themes of love, hate, ownership and desperation.
