Created for the extraordinary dancers of Lyon Opera Ballet, Spanish choreographer Marcos Morau alters the parameters of the classic tale of the battle between good and evil, imagining an endless sleep in which desires and identities are projected. He disassembles and twists the imaginary, reinventing the beloved story through the expansion of time. Set in an unlikely fictional place – a vortex that warps time and space – Morau creates a daring choreography that reflects our reality through a prism of distortion.
Embracing theatre and dance, Sleeping Beauty creates a visceral universe where illusion and reality blend to form a frenzied parade of mysterious figures and ghostly images.
