Podcast Series: DRAFF x ddr.

As part of part of this year's Festival, DRAFF brought three boundary-breaking international artists to Dublin for a series of workshops, and then teamed up with Dublin Digital Radio to create this three-part podcast series...

Episode 1: Nora Chipaumire and Oona Doherty

In May 2019, DRAFF invited Zimbabwean-born, New York-based choreographer and performer Nora Chipaumire to Dublin to give a workshop based on her practice. While she was in the city, the DRAFF team hooked her up with Belfast-based choreographer and performer, Oona Doherty to have a chat about their work, and dance in general.

Both Oona and Nora are intensely physical and dynamic performers, concerned with energy of the performative moment. Their conversation addressed issues of race, the idea of selling out and economies of performance.

Episode 2: Aimar Pérez Galí and Sarah Browne

Catalan choreographer and dancer Aimar Pérez Galí also joined the DRAFF team in Dublin in May 2019 to give a workshop based on his practice as part of DDF2019. Much of Aimar's work focuses on the idea of embodied intelligence, and how the body functions as an archive of its experiences. While in Dublin, Aimar met Irish visual artist Sarah Browne, who took part in the workshop.

Listen to Aimar and Sarah in conversation in the FULL PODCAST.

Episode 3: Sarah Vanhee and Suzanne Walsh

In the final episode in this three-part podcast series, audio/visual artist, writer and musician Suzanne Walsh (Dublin) speaks to artist, performer and writer Sarah Vanhee (Brussels) about wild birds, trash, rewilding language and our connection to nature.
