DDF Blog: OFFSTAGE with Chora

Rehearsal scene from CHORA, featuring LUAIL dancers and Irish Chamber Orchestra musicians collaborating in a studio setting.

In the lead-up to the world premiere of CHORA by LUAIL – Ireland's National Dance Company in collaboration with the Irish Chamber Orchestra, we’ve got a glimpse behind the scenes with the artists and creative teams bringing this triple bill to life.

Through a five-part video series titled The Making of CHORA, Luail offers insight into each of the choreographers' processes, the music, and the collaborative journey behind the production. Here's a look at each part of the series:

Part 1: The Making of CHORA | Guy Nader & Maria Campos
Choreographers Guy Nader and Maria Campos share their insights and thoughts into the creation of I Contain Multitudes, as part of the triple bill performance.

Part 3: The Making of CHORA | Liz Roche
In this video, Liz Roche reflects on Constellations, a piece that explores the subtle interplay between constancy and change. Set to Nimbus by Sam Perkin, the work invites audiences to experience how energy is exchanged, reshaped, and transformed through interaction.

Part 5: CHORA | Audio Description & Touch Tour
An Audio Description and Touch Tour experience will be offered for CHORA at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. Mo Harte will provide a live audio description of the performance, available via headphones, allowing blind and low sighted audience members to experience the movement, design, and atmosphere of the show through vivid narration. Before the performance, audience members can also take part in a pre-show touch tour – an opportunity to explore elements of the set, costumes, and space, guided by Mo.

Chora opens DDF’s 21s Edition at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre on Tues, 13 May at 7:30PM with the Audio Description and Touch Tour starting at 5:50pm.
