Catch up on the Summer 2021 Edition on DDF Home Stage
While the Summer 2021 Edition may have come to a close, we're excited that we can extend the Festival experience a little longer on our DDF Home Stage.

Impulso – A film about Rocío Molina

Rocío Molina has won the hearts of devoted flamenco enthusiasts and inspired a new generation of audiences with her passionate and innovative style. Now, we get to go behind the scenes as this groundbreaking artist prepares for the biggest challenge of her career; a performance that is both an exploration of dance and music, and a celebration of flamenco in all its classical and contemporary beauty.
Farmer Train Swirl – Étude (club version)

Moves, grooves and attitudes intertwine in this video work by Belgian choreographer and dancer Cassiel Gaube based on his study of House dance; a style born in the clubs of Chicago and New York in the early eighties.

Eric Minh Cuong Castaing / Shonen

In this series of three short films, Shonen creates a space that combines dance, imagery, sounds and objects to explore the experience of mobility loss and the necessity of gestures to connect and communicate with others.
Hiroshi Sugimoto / Aurélie Dupont

In this mesmerising short film, we are invited into a spiritual and sensory experience as Aurélie Dupont performs with the glass roof of Sugimoto's Odawara Art Foundation as the stage. She dances as if floating between sky and sea; the performance evolving as the sun rises and the day emerges.
The Sofa Dance

In this short film, 30 acrobats physically express the shared experience of living within drastically limited space – creating joy, absurdity and beauty while stuck at home on their sofas. DDF invites audiences of all ages to give it a go by creating their own #MySofaDance and sharing these online!
Spring... As If Trying Not To Own The Earth
This year-long dance and food activism project examines our connection with nature, and our role within our food system and the wider context of climate justice. It highlights a need to reconnect with our bodies and with the Earth in a sustainable way.
Organised by calendar seasons, the first phase of this project involved two residencies – one focused on Growing, the other on Eating.
GROWING with Carmel Ennis

Follow the journey Rita took with Dublin-based gardener Carmel Ennis, as Rita teaches and shares movement and dance, and in return gains a greater understanding about food and sustainable growing practices from Carmel.
EATING with Riot Rye

Discover the process and experience of Rita and Riot Rye as they shared their knowledge and expertise with each other. Riot Rye explored dance and movement, while Rita explored new skills in food preparation.
Master Class + Interview

This special pre-recorded master class, with inspiring choreographer and poet Carolyn Carlson and members of her dance company, offers rare insight into her choreographic process. In the interview that follows, hear from Carlson and learn more about her experience, her influences and her choreographic approach.
