A Wonderful Evening Out with Our DDF Friends
Last week, we were delighted to gather with our DDF Friends at Project Arts Centre for our annual autumn gathering, where we enjoyed Emma Martin's Dancehall.
Presented as part of Performing Arts Forum’s PAF Connects series, the evening was a celebration of community, creativity and connection – everything we love about the world of dance.
We began the night in the Project Bar, where conversation flowed as easily as the wine. Over slices of delicious pizza, DDF Friends caught up with one another, met members of the DDF Team and Performing Arts Forum, and shared excitement for the show ahead. The atmosphere was relaxed and lively – a reminder of how special it is to come together through a shared love of performance.
Then it was time for the performance. A decade after its original creation, Emma Martin and Andrew Hamilton’s celebratory Dancehall returned, bolder and more alive than ever, reimagined for Luail’s company of dancers. Blending live music, dance and theatrical flair, the piece filled the stage with energy and emotion, capturing audiences from the very first beat. It was a thrilling experience that sparked plenty of conversation long after the curtain fell.
Evenings like this are at the heart of our DDF Friends programme – a chance to connect, discover and celebrate dance in great company.
