Over the past few decades more and more brands have been harnessing the power of dance for their advertising and marketing campaigns. Large-scale advertising campaigns from brands such as Guinness, Vodafone and Airmedica have seen the benefits of using dance for authentic storytelling. Working in collaboration with Business to Arts and IAPI, this event will take the form of a roundtable discussion exploring advertising and dance in the context of dance as a narrative tool and how the body can communicate a multitude of stories, emotions, values and identities for brands.

It will also explore creative collaborations between dance artists and brands/creative agencies and uncover new commercial opportunities for choreographers. The speakers will also screen examples of some of the most compelling dance-led adverts and their impact for the brand.

Moderated by Charley Stoney, CEO, IAPI. Speakers include:
Liam Wielopolski, Executive Creative Director, Core
Oona Doherty, Dancer & Choreographer
Scott Burnett, Strategic Director, wove
Andrew Hetherington, Chief Executive, Business to Arts

About the Speakers

Liam Wielopolski, Executive Creative Director, Core

Wielopolski previously held the role of Chieft Creative Officer as DDB in Johannesburg where he led DDB from 12th to 5th in the Creative Rankings. In 2020, Liam developed a new campaign for Airmedica, a leading Irish brand in personal protective cosmetics, to promote the company’s first consumer facing product “Total Hand Shield System.” The “The Power of Touch” campaign, which was shot and produced under strict Covid-19 restrictions, communicates a simple but strong message about the importance of hand hygiene through a powerful visual metaphor that uses UV paint, powder, lighting and contemporary dance.
