Following its success in 2024, the Navigate International Residency Programme has been expanded for 2025 and now brings together three prestigious international festivals to offer valuable residency opportunities for dance artists.

Dublin Dance Festival is delighted to partner with La Biennale de Lyon with La Maison de la Danse (Lyon, France) once again, as well as partner with Tawain Week (during Taiwan International Festival of Arts) which is hosted by the National Theater Concert Hall (Taipei, Tawain) on the Navigate International Residency Programme.
The programme provides contemporary dance artists with unparalleled opportunities for research, development and collaboration. In 2025, Navigate will prioritise dance artists from diverse, informal backgrounds, as well as dance artists from traditional, indigenous and folk-dance backgrounds. This programme is supported by the Arts Council International Residency Initiative Scheme.

Amir Sabra
Amir Sabra is a Palestinain dancer and choreographer, currently based in Ireland. He completed his Master’s degree in Contemporary Dance and Performance from the university of limerick. In 2017 he started his choreography career with his first piece “Hiphopgeez” produced by Stereo48 Dance Company. in 2019 choreographed the piece “Journey to Jerusalem”. In 2020 he directed the short dance film “False Awakening”. and in 2022 created his first solo “within this party”
He started as a break-dancer in 2008 and then joined Hawaieh dance group where he represented Palestine with them in several dance contests in Denmark, Belgium, and Jordan. In 2015 he joined the Belgium-Palestinian dance piece “Badke”, a co-production between Le ballet c d la b (Ghent), KVS (Brussels), and A.M Qattan Foundation (Ramallah). In 2017 he worked as a dancer and rehearsals manager with Ya Samar Dance theatre in their co-production with the A.M Qattan foundation “Everyday dance in everyday spaces”. in 2019 he was a dancer in “Imprint” by the Pokemon crew from France. In 2021 he performed in floating on the Dead Sea by Catherine Young dance in Ireland. He worked with liz Roche dance company in 2023 in Kindred project, and Partita.
WANG Yeu-Kwn
WANG Yeu-Kwn is the founder and artistic director of Shimmering Production, a Taiwanese dance company focusing on creating contemporary experimental works, and building up movement workshops for the general public. WANG’s choreography project A Trilogy — Quest of Relationships started with Beings, a piece that has been recognized for multiple awards and has toured internationally in Europe and Asia. Islands, the second episode, premiering in autumn 2024, is a co-commission from the National Theatre and Concert Hall, Taipei and the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying), and residency sponsorships of The Place (London, UK), and Kinosaki International Arts Center (Japan).
Youness Aboulakoul
Born in Casablanca and living in Paris, Youness Aboulakoul is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans dance, musical composition, and visual arts. Self-taught from a young age, he discovered hip-hop dance before training in traditional Moroccan dances at the Moulay Rachid cultural complex in Casablanca. At 16, he began his performing career, collaborating with major figures of the contemporary scene such as Christian Rizzo, Olivier Dubois, Bernardo Montet, Ambra Senatore, Filipe Lourenço, Arnaud Saury, Youness Atbane, Incripacion, Konic Thtr, Khalid Benghrib, and many others, both in Morocco and Europe.
In December 2017, he founded Compagnie Ayoun, a space to explore and develop his artistic universe. There, he created his first solo piece, Today is a Beautiful Day, in 2020, followed by his first group piece, Mille Miles, in 2022, and AYTA in 2024, a work for six performers. Alongside his choreographic work, Youness Aboulakoul develops a visual practice that is expressed through the scenography of his shows. He is also an electronic music composer, blending Moroccan influences and electro sounds to create a unique sound universe.
Youness Aboulakoul's work, described as the architecture of Mixed Aesthetics, celebrates diversity and plurality, transcending the boundaries between disciplines and cultures. Through the interweaving of the body, music, and visual arts, he creates works that are profoundly authentic and universal.
