In 2002 the Merce Cunningham Dance Company launched the first edition of Dublin Dance Festival, providing both a contemporary and historical context for the artform. This year, the world celebrates the Merce Cunningham Centennial.

In Merce Cunningham: A Lifetime of Dance, archived dance performances are featured along with thoughtful commentary from early members of Cunningham’s dance company, dance critics and historians.

Merce Cunningham's revolutionary take on modern dance is brilliantly explained in this documentary, a fitting tribute to an extraordinary artist, which places interviews with the master, and footage of his work, front and centre.
