★★★★★ Baby Don't Hurt Me is an iron-strong choreography by Imre and Marne van Opstal.
Volkskrant16
Having started their professional careers as dancers with Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT), brother and sister duo Marne and Imre van Opstal return to the company as two of the most exciting and sought-after young choreographers with their work Baby Don’t Hurt Me.
Set to music composed by Amos Ben-Tal, Baby Don’t Hurt Me is an exploration of how their personal experiences and perspectives become part of their role as dancers. Sharing their own personal stories, the seven dancers tackle themes of identity, sexuality, love and gender in this deeply poignant piece.
When we wear our heart on our sleeve, we run the risk of being painfully condemned or misunderstood. This vulnerability is one of those things we all have in common.
How much can we share?
What is love?
