What happens to someone who is used to being the master if there’s nothing to be master of?

After the success of Portrait at DDF 08, Ioana Mona Popovici returns to DDF 09 to explore just these questions. Bizarre new rituals unfold as the determined farmer attempts to bring something, anything, under his control. Darkly humorous, Work in Regress looks at the interdependence of master and property, playing out the former master’s adaptation to his own obsolescence.

We are delighted to welcome back Prague-based Romanian choreographer Ioana Mona Popovici, who has been nominated as BalletTanz magazine’s ‘Young Choreographer to Watch’ three times. Portrait won the Sazka Prize for ‘Discovery in Dance’ in 2007.
