Each piece presented in this Triple Bill offers a window into the mastery, versatility and daring that are so intrinsically part of Lyon Opera Ballet’s work.

Choreographers Jan Martens and Ioannis Mandafounis both present new solo works, custom-made for one of the dancers of the company. Martens’ is a choreographic explosion for dancer Kristina Bentz, where classical and contemporary worlds collide in an unexpected but harmonious blend of movement and music. Mandafounis gives space and freedom to the intelligence of dancer Yan Leiva's body, in a piece that contrasts meticulous choreography with improvisation.

Alessandro Sciarroni presents a mesmerising ensemble piece as the final work; a new version of a piece inspired by Tyrolean folk dance created in collaboration with Lyon Opera Ballet. In this recreation titled The Collection, Sciarroni tests the physical endurance of the dancers, creating a series of choreographic patterns that are both breathtaking and entrancing.
