This Continuing Professional Development workshop is aimed at emerging and professional dance artists, and arts practitioners of all disciplines with no dance background, who wish to develop their understanding of composition. Transferring ideas, thoughts and skills from classical Indian dance, Balbir Singh will focus on raising participants’ awareness of the language of rhythm, hand gesture and storytelling, among other aspects of Kathak dance. The workshop will provide a platform to address multidisciplinary and cross-cultural collaborative processes.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend either of Balbir Singh’s performances of Decreasing Infinity, at Project Arts Centre on Sunday 22, prior to the workshop.
