A moving and thrilling collection of solos, duets and a trio. Irish dance makers Nick Bryson, Karen Gleeson and Aisling O’Coineen present an evening of short dance works, together with a special guest from the European dance network, Studiotrade. Each piece is a celebration of the artists’ eight month residency in Mermaid Arts Centre. Presented as part of Dancing Wicklow - an exciting programme of dance for Wicklow audiences, as part of the Dublin Dance Festival.

Acclaimed Brussels-based Swiss choreographer Thomas Hauert will surprise Wicklow audiences on Bray promenade with two free performances of his new solo (sweet) (bitter). This piece responds to Monteverdi’s musical poem of impossible love, Si dolce è’l tormento.

Following the premiere at the Samuel Beckett Theatre, Mermaid is delighted to present Jockey in Bray. Willfredd Theatre team up with dancer Emma O’Kane to explore the physical relationship between the dancer, the jockey and the Irish thoroughbred racehorse! Featuring excerpts from the writings of Emma’s grandfather, a racing journalist from the 1940s-70s.
