Ballet Ireland presents GISELLE, touring Ireland 22 April -27 May 2017

BALLET IRELAND presents:

GISELLE

Touring Ireland 22 April - 27 May 2017

This spring Ballet Ireland presents a new version of Giselle, a haunting story of love, betrayal and redemption.

The ballet tells the tale of Giselle who, betrayed by Albrecht, dies broken hearted - but her spirit returns to protect her now-repenting lover from the Wilis, vengeful ghosts of young women jilted before their wedding day, who dance men to their deaths.

Choreographed by Ludovic Ondiviela, one of Europe’s foremost emerging choreographers and former Royal Ballet dancer, this story reminds us of how it feels to have your heart broken, but still yearn to love.

Following Ballet Ireland's hugely successful production of The Nutcracker in 2016, the company will tour 22 April - 27 May with this new Irish production performed by an international cast of world-class dancers. The thirteen venue tour will begin with a week at Project Arts Centre Dublin 22-29 April.

Creative Team:
Choreography: LudovicOndivela
Design: Maree Kearns
Music: Adolphe Adam
Additional composition and sound design: Tom Lane and Rob Moloney

This tour is supported by the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon and Dance Ireland.
