“Don’t Just Stand There, Let’s Get To It – Strike a Pose – Volunteering, There’s Nothing To It”

18 days of dance, 18 chances to experience the Festival first hand, 18 opportunities to volunteer and see for yourself what dance brings not only to the stage but to Dublin this May (2 – 20).

This year’s festival sees its most ambitious programme yet; from storming the main stage at the Abbey Theatre, to taking up residency for 5 nights at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre; from showcasing new works-in-development by Ireland-based artists, to Irish and world premieres from internationally recognised companies; from an inter-generational dance and play project, to a Street Dance Battle in Meeting House Square. We have Olivier-nominated international companies dancing next to award-winning Irish contemporary artists. From multimedia to Artificial Intelligence, from mourning traditions to spiritual awakenings, from the controversial to the unconventional, from a ‘firework of flamboyant theatricality and sexuality’ to the deconstruction of dance by a legendary, pioneering dance artist – there is something for everyone. DDF 2018 is not to be missed!

DDF 2018 offers a chance to volunteer behind the scenes, centre stage, and down amongst the audience with roles in Front of House & Venue Support, Artist Liaison & Hospitality or Marketing Online Assistance & Photographic Archiving. The Festival provides a chance for those interested in pursuing a career in Arts and Event Management to look at what it takes to bring a festival of this size to fruition. Volunteering is a must of all dance aficionados – of all levels of embarrassment and professionalism.
