An evening of dance theatre with DDF Friends

An evening of dance theatre with DDF Friends

Our latest DDF Friends event brought a welcome visit to the Gate Theatre to meet up with some familiar faces and enjoy an evening of poignant and humorous dance theatre from Michael Keegan-Dolan.

Presented as part of this year's Dublin Theatre Festival, Michael Keegan-Dolan's How to be a Dancer in Seventy-Two Thousand Easy Lessons saw Keegan-Dolan return to the stage for the first time in many years alongside Rachel Poirier. Drawing on stories, myths and memories, this work – seemingly autobiographical – is a blending of experiences, both lived and imagined, fact and fiction.

It had audiences captivated and laughing out loud with an impeccable soundtrack, script and carefully choreographed movement.

Of course, an evening at the theatre is not complete without a moment to catch up with friends, and it was wonderful to meet up with some long-standing as well as some new DDF Friends ahead of the show to share a glass of wine and a chat.

It was an evening of pure dance enjoyment, and we can't wait for the next one!

If you want to be part of these DDF Friends events and outings, you can find out more about signing up as a Friend. For just a few euros each month, you can support DDF and the work we do, while getting closer to the heart of the Festival. Sign Up as a DDF Friends
