"Simple, but oh, how sublime!" Le Devoir
Miniatures sees renowned choreographer José Navas return to his first love – the solo. Each of these solos offers us a glimpse of the artist’s field of memories – a window onto a movement landscape. Clear, pure and suffused with love and desire, Navas dances to a sumptuous selection of music including Bach, Bellini’s Norma and George Gershwin. This is contemporary dance at its most beautiful and revealing.
Based in Québec since 1991, Venezuelan-born José Navas founded Compagnie Flak in 1995. In 1999, he was named ‘Best Young Foreign Choreographer’ by BalletTanz magazine. His work has been performed worldwide.
